Earache Fun

January 3, 2008

So the 2-year-old was sitting on my lap, watching Sesame Street, and I noticed there was an interesting smell occurring. As in Onion-Family-Smell-ish. And there were no onions or garlic eaten last night for supper. Then I remembered. For the last 2 days, I have been dripping garlic juice into her ear for the infection she is bound and determined to get. I sniffed her ear yesterday out of curiosity, with no smell. (It was a slow day.) Today, I haven’t even given her any juice since she’s not complaining of pain, but it is definitely eminating from her cute little ear. Not sure what that means, but I’m going to go with believing that the infection gave up, and is exiting the premises.

By the way, this is a valid homeopathic remedy for earaches, so put down the number for Social Services, and step away from the phone. We are not Looney Family, though some would disagree. Just trying to avoid antibiotics AND the incredible lengths we go to whenever a doctor’s appointment is absolutely necessary!

2-Year-Old is now standing beside me, smelling like a 3-foot-tall garlic clove. Poor little thing. But, hey, her interesting smell will definitely keep the mosquitoes away! You know……….the ones that live where the wind chills are -12, and there are 4 inches of snow and ice on the ground. Yeah. THOSE mosquitoes.
