In case you’re wondering what kind of woman has 9 children ON PURPOSE, homeschools them, and still manages to have a sense of humor AND the ability to think in complete, almost-grammatically correct sentences, keep reading!

I am a Christian homeschooler, Air Force wife, and Proverbs 31 woman wanna-be. My life, which revolves around my husband,  nine children, and our country home, is filled with corny jokes, mountains of laundry, lots of laughter, and the occasional temper tantrum….although I try not to break anything when I fling myself to the floor. My job is to find the humor in it all, and write about it.
October 2008 update…..
That was then.
This is now.
We moved and now live on a military base in Arizona.
Where it’s hot.
So now I get to blog about city-living in a 1200-square-foot house with nine kids and one Yummy Man who happens to be my husband.  (Which is fortunate since he’s yummy.)
The rest of the stuff is the same…..Air Force wife, homeschooler, Proverbs 31 wanna-be, corny jokes, lots of laundry and laughter, and the occasional temper tantrum.
The joy is harder to come by but I’m workin’ on it!
Winter 2010 update……
Wow!  NOW we live in the interior of Alaska.  Because God has a sense of humor…..Arizona to Alaska.  We live on 51 acres, looking out on nothing but trees and meadow and the occasional moose.  We went for more room on the OUTSIDE of our house, than on the INSIDE.  It’s taking some serious adjusting plus lots of winter gear but we’re loving it!
If you are also a mom, please understand that this blog is not one filled with nobility and philosophy.  It is just an attempt on my part to find a little joy in the oozing diapers, vomit extravaganzas, fake gun fights, and temper tantrums of my every days.
I hope you learn to find it too.

Okay, saw the vomit comment and knew we must be long-lost blog sisters–is it possible that I have stumbled upon another mom who has completed her clinicals for her Vomitologist designation?

Hey, I’m a homeschooled young woman with 10 siblings (yes, 10, we beat you!) I found this blog through various homeschooling-mother links and I just wanted to tell you that this MADE ME LAUGH! ‘Specially the letter you wrote to the UPS guy and your comment about waving children. Ha, it reminds me of my own little sisters and brothers. (And our poor mailman . . .) Anyway, I’ve enjoyed your blog so much and I hope to read more!! 🙂

I really wanted to comment on your most recent post (“My Excuses”), but WordPress was not allowing it… so, I’m posting here. 😉 I’m so excited for you and your new home!! Now I’ll just have to pray that it’s my turn next… because fitting 6 kids (who, for some reason, just keep getting bigger!) into a less.than.1000sqft home is getting more and more interesting. Unfortunately my hubby isn’t in a job field where there’s a new rank to attain. And, although I think he would look h.o.t. in a uniform, he doesn’t wear one.

So, congrats, happy birthday, and try not to pass out from the heat while cleaning and packing to move into your very own new construction that’s twice the size of what you currently live in with nine children in a state where it’s HOT all the time. 🙂

Hi, I just discovered you by googling “oliveplants.” 🙂 I’m an Air Force wife, too, with 7 children. I’m bookmarking your page, and hope to get back soon to know you better.
